I want these!

I should be able to get them from here. The only problem is that I'm a dumb American that doesn't understand foreign-to-me languages. I am loving these pillows so much. I would settle for getting a pattern much like that in a contact paper to put on the back of my bookcase. A girl can dream and continue to search the internet for the elusive perfect backdrop for her bookcase.

Brainstorming for the craft room

So, I have this bookshelf from the closed out Borders store, my inspiration quilt, and my rug picked out. My idea is to paint the back of the bookshelf because it is this unattractive thick, shiny cardboard/composite board looking material. Now, I have this image in my head of graduated paint colors of the purple from the quilt and the carpet. Is that too much purple? Would the graduation be too overbearing? I am so undecisive it's ridiculous. With the amount of pattern in the quilt and the rug I have decided I definitely don't want a patterned wallpaper or contact paper on the back of the shelves so paint will be it. Purple, graduated purple, some other color, or some other graduated color? Hhhmmm, I'll have to think this one out.

Also, stay tuned for some before pictures of my desk. I didn't snag the one from the local restore because someone else got there 2 hours before me. Stupid day job keeping me from my cheap furniture purchases. I still found a rough gem on Craigslist, though.

Craft Room

This will be my hopefully, not-too-distant, future craft room layout. As best as I can get it at least. I'm hoping to pick up the L-shaped desk at a home re-store ($25) this weekend, as well as the beefy bookshelf ($110) from a book store that is closing out. Then all I need are my Flor tile rug (pinned), comfy reading chair and desk chair and it will be complete. I've already picked out the art I want for the walls and pinned them on Pinterest as well as my inspiration wall hanging quilt my mom made (note to self - take a better photo in the sun of the quilt to really capture the true colors).

The closet will have two 24" ClosetMaid organizers in the middle with drawers and shelves to organize all of our crafty things and my sewing machine will go on the big L-shaped desk. It will finally have a home! I'm getting excited to have a room done that doesn't belong to one of my daughters.

It will be mine

See the bookshelf on the far right?

It (or one very much like it) will be mine in about a month when our local Border's bookstore is empty enough for us to come in and take it. Well, I'm taking half of it to lean against the wall in craft room. Now the debate whether to paint or leave the natural oak wood and just paint the bland backer board something fun. Maybe I could use some fun wallpaper on the backer board or even some cool shelf paper. It has kind of a bit of glossy texture to it so I'm not sure how it would work with paint or wallpaper. It may take some roughing it to get it to stick. We'll see...

My First Installment

Here is my office inspiration piece. A quilt called "Harmonic Convergence" made by my wonderful mother. I just love the fabric patterns and the colors.
